Warrant Arrest, Felony - Location: 4200 Block of Burton Drive
An officer was dispatched to a motion alarm at a commercial building on the 4200 block of Burton Drive. As the officer arrived, a female subject was observed exiting the building. A Records check revealed she was on searchable probation and had two misdemeanor warrants for her arrest. A search of her person yielded drug paraphernalia. Although there was no forced entry into the business and nothing appeared to be stolen or damaged, she was arrested and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail as a result of the warrants.

Driving Under the Influence Collision - Location: Civic Center Drive and Lincoln Street
A male suspect was driving a vehicle that was involved in an injury collision at Civic Center Drive and Lincoln Street. The suspect displayed objective symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol and failed to perform field sobriety test to standards. He was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment. After being medically cleared, he was transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.
The driver and two passengers of the other vehicle were involved in the collision. They were transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Brandishing - Location: De la Cruz Boulevard and Highway 101
Public Safety Dispatchers received a report of brandishing a firearm in the area of De la Cruz Boulevard and Highway 101. According to the reporting parties, a male subject stopped his vehicle in traffic, went into the trunk, retrieved a firearm and pointed it at the reporting party. The subject later turned into a driveway on the north side of Richard Avenue west of Lafayette Street. The reporting party called 9-1-1 and waited for police officers on Richard Avenue at Lafayette Street to point out the suspect's location.
SCPD officers detained the suspect and discovered the firearm was a pellet gun. The victim placed the suspect under citizen arrest. He was cited and released at the scene.

Hit and Run - Location: Saratoga Avenue and Stevens Creek Boulevard
A Community Service Officer (CSO) was on duty in a marked civilian police vehicle on Saratoga Avenue. The male suspect vehicle made an unsafe lane change and collided with the right side of the CSO vehicle. The CSO waved for the suspect to pull over, however, he turned onto eastbound Stevens Creek Boulevard then southbound San Tomas Expressway, accelerating to flee. The CSO followed the suspect from a distance to get the license plate number. While doing so, the CSO witnessed the suspect run the red light at San Tomas Expressway and Moorpark Avenue and collide with another vehicle. The witness followed the suspect on westbound Moorpark Avenue until the suspect drove southbound in the northbound lanes of Saratoga Avenue. The California Highway Patrol and SCPD investigated the incident and later arrested the suspect.

NOTE: Members of the Santa Clara Police Department joined the San Jose Police Department with a procession for Officer Michael Katherman from Regional Medical Center to the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office. Officer Katherman, 34, was an 11-year veteran of the San Jose Police Department and was killed in the line of duty on June 14, 2016.

Fraud - Location: 2400 Block of El Camino Real
An unknown male and an unknown female suspect attempted to pay for a cab ride concluding on the 2400 block of El Camino Real with a counterfeit $100 bill. The cab driver realized the bill was counterfeit and attempted to contact the subjects, however they fled on foot. The victim gave the suspects approximately $80 in change from the counterfeit bill. The suspects remain at large.

Burglary - Location: Santa Clara Street and The Alameda
At approximately 1132 hours, a male subject entered a building at Santa Clara University, proceeded to a professor’s office, removed a laptop computer from a desk and fled the building. The subject was eventually apprehended by Santa Clara University Security Officers with assistance from SCPD across the street from the campus. The subject was not a student, employee or affiliated with the University in any way. A Records check revealed he was on parole. He was arrested and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail. This incident was captured on the University's surveillance system.

Hit and Run - Location: Lafayette Street and Lewis Street
A male suspect was driving northbound on Lafayette Street, ran the red light at Lewis Street and collided with a vehicle in the intersection. The suspect’s vehicle hit the signal light. As a result, both the signal light and vehicle ran into a house on the 900 block of Lewis Street shattering a glass window on the house. An occupant of the residence was struck with the glass and sustained minor injuries.
The suspect fled the scene and was located at Lafayette Street and Civic Center Drive. Based on the officer’s observations of the suspect, responses to the questions, results of the standardized field sobriety tests and preliminary alcohol screening the suspect was placed under arrest for driving under the influence.
The male passenger attempted to flee but was restrained by individuals at the scene. Based on objective symptoms of alcohol intoxication, he was arrested for drunk in public.

Theft - Location: 3000 Block of Stevens Creek Boulevard
An officer was dispatched to Macy's for shoplifter in custody. The male suspect attempted to provide a false identity and was in possession of burglary tools, an unlawful knife, a controlled substance and pepper spray. A Records check revealed he had a felony warrant. He was arrested and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.

Driving Under the Influence - Location: 4800 Block of Patrick Henry Drive
Officers responded to the 4800 block of Patrick Henry Drive on the report of a possible driving under the influence in the area. A male suspect was observed driving and was determined to be under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested and transported to the Santa Clara County Jail.
