Silicon Valley Youth Climate Summit Set For Saturday

Summit organizers hope to energize high school and college students to make a difference on stemming the tide of the climate crisis.

CUPERTINO, CA — Calling on activists and innovators, Bay Area for Clean Environment will host the Silicon Valley Youth Climate Summit 2019 Saturday at De Anza College.

The summit, which runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., brings together high school and college students as well as young adults in the hopes of inspiring them to make a difference in averting the climate crisis. California Assemblyman Ash Kalra, D-San Jose, is expected to attend.

Participants will learn about and help develop pathways to meaningful actions at every level. From here, the gathering will launch a hub to facilitate ongoing work.

The youth climate summit scheduled for the college's Kirsh Center for Environmental Studies located at 21250 Stevens Creek Blvd.
