South Bay Fundraiser Benefits Students Who Beat Odds

Los Gatos Kiwanis Club's "Turn-Around Scholarship Fundraiser" to be held in support of students who overcame challenges.

LOS GATOS, CA — Some had health issues. Others were bullied.

The challenges some Los Gatos and Saratoga high school students faced may have been different, but their resolve was the same, and a local group is honoring their resilience.

The Kiwanis Club of Los Gatos is holding a fundraiser to benefit a scholarship program for some of those who found a way to rise above their circumstances.

The group is holding a “Turn-Around Scholarship Fundraiser” next week that aims to make the college experience for these students a little bit easier.

Proceeds from the $99 four-course filet mignon take-out dinner will benefit a scholarship college fund for these students.

Pre-paid dinners can be picked up Feb. 12 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Flights Restaurant (165 Los Gatos Saratoga Rd., Los Gatos). The group asks that orders be placed by Feb. 10.
