South Bay Sexual Assault Suspect Arrested
Dana Joseph Wright, 35 of Bodega Bay, is accused of sexually and physically assaulting the juvenile Oct. 18 in Los Gatos.
LOS GATOS, CA — A Sonoma County man was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of sexually assaulting a juvenile in Los Gatos last month, police said.
Dana Joseph Wright, 35 of Bodega Bay, was arrested by Marin County Sheriff's deputies in connection with an alleged Oct. 18 incident, Los Gatos-Monte Sereno police said.

The juvenile was walking northbound on Benedict Lane near Chirco Dr. at around 4 p.m. when police allege Wright assaulted her.

Wright ran away from the scene after a brief struggle, police said.
Wright was associated with a tan Mercedes Sprinter van with unique markings, police said.

Images of the suspect taken from surveillance video and a composite sketch based on the alleged victim’s description along with a vehicle description were broadcast to law enforcement agencies statewide.

A Marin County Sheriff's Office detective located the suspect vehicle and the suspect that matched those descriptions Tuesday in Novato.
After confirming a match with Los Gatos-Monte Sereno detectives investigating the case, Sheriff’s deputies arrested Wright on a $1 million warrant, police said.
Wright was booked into Santa Clara jail on two felony sexual assault charges, police said.
Police said their investigation of this case is ongoing.
