CUPERTINO, CA — A third temporary evacuation point for residents who have been forced to evacuate their homes or are facing evacuation warnings due to the SCU Lightning Complex and CZU Lightning Complex fires opened Sunday at the Quinlan Community Center at 10185 N Stelling Rd in Cupertino, Santa Clara County officials said.

The first evacuation resource center opened Wednesday at the Milpitas Library and the second opened at Ann Sobrato High School in Morgan Hill on Thursday.

The evacuation point is staffed by the County of Santa Clara and the American Red Cross and serves to assess the needs of individuals and families impacted by the evacuations and determine appropriate resources, county officials said. It is not a shelter, but serves to assist residents with temporary housing.

RV parking will be available and residents who may interested in safe camping locations should bring tents and sleeping bags when leaving their homes if they have them.

All residents under an evacuation order are urged to take rapid action and leave the area immediately ahead of the fast-moving and unpredictable wildfires, county officials said.
