Sunnyvale Theater Group Partners With National Anti-Sexual Violence Network

Sunnyvale Community Players to accept donations for RAINN during run of upcoming play "Spring Awakening."

SUNNYVALE, CA –- Sunnyvale Community Players is dedicating its upcoming production of "Spring Awakening" to raising awareness and funding for RAINN, the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network.

Donations will be collected to support RAINN programs during the Sept. 24 to Oct. 16 run of the play at the Sunnyvale Community Center.

“RAINN does such important work in supporting survivors and letting them know they are not alone,” says co-producer Tara Smalley. “There is a strong undercurrent of isolation in 'Spring Awakening.' So many of the children in the show are grappling with very intense events and emotions, in a society where these topics are so taboo that they feel unique and unspeakable to these characters, leading them down some very dark internal paths."
