Suspect Who Robbed, Attacked Man, 91, At Wife's Grave Sought
The suspect sought by Santa Clara Police is accused of ambushing the senior from behind with a rock at the Mission City Memorial cemetery.

SANTA CLARA, CA — A 91-year-old man visiting his widow's gravesite at a Santa Clara cemetery was robbed and injured when the suspect hit him with a large rock and fled on his bicycle, the police department reported Thursday.
Now the Santa Clara Police Department is asking for the public’s help regarding what appears to be an unprovoked attack on a senior on Sept. 14 at 10:42 a.m. at the Mission City Memorial Park cemetery located 420 N. Winchester Blvd.
The male suspect allegedly struck the victim on the head from behind with a large rock.

The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Officers searched the area for the suspect to no avail.

The suspect was described as possibly a Hispanic or Latino male, 35- to 50-years-old, standing about 6 feet tall with a medium build. He had gray slicked-back hair and a gray mustache. He was wearing a white t-shirt with long black shorts.
The suspect was last seen riding a gray and black mountain bike.
Anyone with information regarding this crime including any video capturing the streets surrounding the park — as in Winchester Boulevard, Bohannon Drive as well as Dolores, Dome, Talia and Knowles avenues — is asked to contact Detective Sgt.
