Touring Production Of 'King And I' Coming To South Bay

Showdates are Feb. 20-25 at the Center for the Performing Arts in San Jose.

SAN JOSE, CA – One of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s finest works, "The King And I," will make its San Jose premiere at the Center for the Performing Arts Feb. 20–25, 2018.

"Set in 1860s' Bangkok, the musical tells the story of the unconventional and tempestuous relationship that develops between the King of Siam and Anna Leonowens, a British schoolteacher, whom the modernist King, in an imperialistic world, brings to Siam to teach his many wives and children," according to producers.

Directed by Tony Award-winner Bartlett Sher, the production, with such beloved classics as “Getting To Know You,” “Hello Young Lovers” and “Shall We Dance,” won four 2015 Tony Awards® including Best Revival of a Musical.
