WALK-BIKE CUPERTINO ANNOUNCES
“ADVOCATES OF THE YEAR”
Cupertino, CA –March 5, 2020 --Walk-Bike Cupertino is pleased to announce and recognize Ellen and Richard Lowenthal as the Cupertino Bike/Pedestrian Advocates of 2019. Both avid cycling, walking and hiking advocates, Ellen and Richard have been life-long Cupertino residents and strong community supporters.
In October 2019, the Lowenthals sponsored the transfer of the land and entitlements for the Linda Vista Trail to the City of Cupertino. The trail, when completed in 2020, will connect Linda Vista Park to McClellan Ranch.
It will be a key segment for a greenway route connecting the neighborhoods surrounding Linda Vista Park though McClellan Ranch (along with the Scenic/Inspiration Heights neighborhoods) to Varian Park and the Stevens Creek Elementary School area.
“We are so pleased to recognize Ellen and Richard for their sponsorship and most of all, the work we are able to accomplish in bringing hiking and bicycling to more neighborhoods for Cupertino residents to enjoy,” said Larry Dean, (Founding Board Member).
