When U2 Comes To Town, The 49ers Have To Pay

Breaking: Roughly 50,000 fans will attend the show at Levi Stadium, and it's going to cost the 49ers a pretty penny.

SANTA CLARA, CA — Roughly 50,000 fans are expected to attend Wednesday night's U2 show at Levi Stadium. According to a report from NBC Bay Area, the show is going to cost the San Francisco 49ers an extra $50,000 in public transportation costs.

The report says VTA estimates that about 6,000 concertgoers will take public transportation, which means trains will run later than usual. Someone has to pay for that, according to the report, and that cost falls on the group that manages Levi Stadium: the San Francisco 49ers.

The concert, featuring Mumford & Sons as opener, starts at 6:30 p.m. You can read the full story here.
