Woman Allegedly Killed By Husband Identified

The Santa Clara County medical examiner's office identified a San Jose woman who died after her husband allegedly assaulted her.

SAN JOSE, CA — A woman who was allegedly killed by her husband in San Jose has been identified as 49-year-old Tiffany Phan, according to the Santa Clara County medical examiner's office. Cam Ngoc Le, 48, was in custody for attempted murder at the time of her death, but the charges were upgraded to murder this week, according to Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office spokeswoman Cynthia Sumida.

Police responded to a disturbance call at Muirfield Court at 4:45 p.m. on Aug. 8 and found a woman suffering major head trauma from an apparent assault, according to police.

Phan was taken to a hospital and died due to her injuries on Thursday, according to police.

Le was arrested and is charged with murder with personal infliction of great bodily injury, domestic violence and personal use of a deadly weapon, according to Sumida.

Le is scheduled to enter a plea on Oct. 1 in Santa Clara County Superior Court.
