2 Arrested During Weekend DUI Checkpoint In Diamond Bar: Police

Two people were arrested at a DUI/driver's license checkpoint in Diamond Bar over the weekend, police say.

DIAMOND BAR, CA -- Two people were arrested at a DUI/Driver’s License checkpoint in Diamond Bar over the weekend, authorities say.

The checkpoint, located at Diamond Bar Boulevard and Highland Valley Road, was conducted between 6 p.m. Friday and 2 a.m. Saturday, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

One person was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs and another person was arrested for felony identity theft and misdemeanor possession of drugs, the sheriff’s department said.

DUI Checkpoints are placed in areas based on crash statistics and frequency of DUI arrests. In 2018, the sheriff’s department investigated nearly 400 DUI collisions that killed 21 people and injured nearly 600 others, the LASD said.

The names of those arrested and their cities of residence were not released by authorities.
