[UPDATE] 60 Freeway Reopened After Shooting Investigation

A man sheriff's investigators believe was shot in La Puente was involved in an accident Wednesday morning that shut down all lanes of the 60 freeway eastbound.

UPDATED, 10:20 a.m.: All lanes of the 60 freeway through Diamond Bar have been reopened after an accident sheriff's investigators believe was connected to a shooting reported in La Puente. According to the California Highway Patrol, the freeway closure lasted a total of 90 minutes from around 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Wednesday.

UPDATED, 9:57 a.m.: KNX 1070 reports all lanes of the 60 eastbound have been reopened. Traffic is moving freely east of Diamond Bar Boulevard though westbound traffic is still slow.

UPDATED, 9:20 a.m.: A report of a shooting this morning in La Puente has led to the closure of the 60 freeway eastbound, according to authorities.

At 7:27 a.m., deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Industry Station responded a call of a man shot on Valley Boulevard in La Puente, said Sgt. Dwight Miley.  Shortly after, another call came in that a second male victim of that shooting was involved in a traffic accident on the 60 freeway, Miley said.

The matter is under investigation and the eastbound 60 remains closed, he said.

The 60 freeway is shut down headed eastbound and traffic westbound has some lanes closed as a police investigation continues at the scene. 

Twitter reports from freeway drivers and KTLA's Ginger Chan confirm the reports. 

Lt. John Saleeby of the Walnut/Diamond Bar Sheriff's said the accident occurred near the Diamond Bar Boulevard exit and that the investigation is being handled by Industry Sheriff's deputies.
