Air Quality Report For San Gabriel Valley: Diamond Bar, Walnut

The South Coast Air Quality Management District reports for the San Gabriel Valley are in. Here is your air quality report for Wednesday.

DIAMOND BAR, CA — The South Coast Air Quality Management District's weekly report is in, and they predict "good' quality air to "unhealthful" across the South Coast Air Basin for Wednesday.

The Air Quality Index measured pollutants in the air, whether from ozone, carbon monoxide, nitrogen dioxide or particulate matter.

The forecast shared that air quality will be good in the coastal and inland Orange County areas on Wednesday, with an Air Quality Index of 46 for Ozone. No health impacts were expected when air quality is in this range.

Moderate air quality was expected in the San Gabriel Valley and San Gabriel Mountain areas on Wednesday, with ozone in the 100 range.

When AQI is between 51 and 100, "unusually sensitive people should consider limiting prolonged outdoor exertion," the SAQMD said.

Higher up, air quality is unhealthful for sensitive groups at Big Bear Lake, with ozone hovering at about 132.

At this level, active children and adults, and people with respiratory disease, such as asthma, should avoid prolonged outdoor exertion," they said.

Everyone else, especially children, should limit prolonged outdoor exertion.
