Arellano, Walnut Too Much for Nogales in 30-6 Win

WALNUT – Jared Areallno accounted for all of Walnuts scoring as the Mustangs ran past the visiting Nogales Nobles 30-6 to end a two game skid against the Nobles.

In addition to the win, Arellano also broke then set the school record for punt returns as he returned his fourth and fifth punts for scores in the game. The previous mark of four punt returns for touchdowns was set by former coach Darian LInsay.

Areallano was also proficient with his legs, going for 96 yards on nine carries and two touchdowns.

Walnut drew first blood after intercepting a nogales pass at the five yard line. Areallano ran the ball from five yards out for the first of his four scores of the game.

The four touchdowns in one game ties Areallano for second in school history, with five being the best

Nogales avoided the shutout when Eduardo Enriquez found Joseph Flores on a 20 yard scoring pass with three minutes left in the third quarter.

Walnut (3-1) hosts San Gabriel next Friday. Kickoff is at 7pm.
