Christmas 'Spark of Love' Toy Collection Celebrated Walnut Valley Students
Westoff Elementary School students celebrate their Spark of Love Toy Drive, an event they have participated in since 1992.

WALNUT, CA — Westhoff Elementary transformed into a winter wonderland during its annual Spark of Love toy drive and holiday musical on Dec. 9.
Snow-capped trees, giant candy canes, and glittered ornaments surrounded the children as they ushered in the holiday spirit.
Kindergarten through fifth grade students kicked off the program by dropping off hundreds of new toys for under-served children in the Los Angeles area.

“Spark of Love” blends in so well with our Character Program and our Golden Rule school theme as it models the importance of giving back,” said Principal Denise Rendon to students, families and friends that filled the amphitheater for the school’s signature event.
Each grade level then took to the stage to perform a special holiday song complete with choreography.

Energetic fourth and fifth grade performed “Little Jingle” and “Must be Christmas” featuring dance, gymnastic, scooter, and skateboard talents.
Staff members donned pony tails and 1950’s poodle skirts to perform “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” concluding with a surprise visit by Santa and his elves.

“Hats off to each and every one of you that gave a toy today,” said Captain Mark Griffen from Walnut Station #146.
