City to Vote on Official Ownership of Longview Park

The city council will vote Tuesday night on an agreement that would give the city ownership of a park thought to be in city control for over 20 years.

As possession is nine-tenths of the law, Diamond Bar has assumed ownership of a neighborhood mini-park for over 20 years.

But Longview Park, located near the city limit with Chino Hills on N. Grand Avenue, was not properly transferred to the city during incorporation in 1989.

According to city staff reports, a long paper trail led back to the park's original developer and the current owner, Ryland Homes.
