Film on Freedom Riders Brings History to Life for Mt. SAC Students
The Children's Defense Fund, Mt. San Antonio College's history department and the ASPIRE Club hosted a viewing party for a PBS documentary on the freedom rides of 1961.

Damany Fisher, a Mt. San Antonio College history professor, hosted a screening of the documentary film "Freedom Riders" Tuesday alongside a panel of Freedom Riders teleconferencing from Howard University in Washington, D.C.
The event had special meaning for some of the students, like Lydia Almarez, who said her mother had told her stories about the civil rights protests of the 1950s and 60s, but the documentary brought home new lessons.
