Fumes Lead To Peterson Park Evacuations In Diamond Bar
Diamond Bar residents were evacuated as a precaution in response to smoldering trash fires that were emitting gas and fumes.

DIAMOND BAR, CA — Several homes near Peterson Park in the 24000 block of Sylvan Glen Drive in Diamond Bar were evacuated midday Monday as a precaution in response to a pair of smoldering trash fires that were emitting gas and fumes, sheriff's officials say.
The fumes are believed to be the result of improperly disposed of chemicals that were not properly disposed.
"The source of the fire came from trash collected at a nearby residence on Sylvan Glen. That location experienced a smaller trash fire, which also produced gas and fumes," the sheriff's department said. "A hazardous materials team from LA County Fire is on-scene at both locations."
