Gang Member Arrested In Possession Of 33-Round Magazine Handgun
A routine traffic stop in Pomona led to a search of the suspect's home, where police found a handgun magazine that can house 33 bullets.
LOS ANGELES COUNTY -- A routine traffic stop of a known gang member led to a subsequent search of the suspect's home where authorities located a handgun magazine capable of housing 33 bullets at a time, police said Sunday.
The Pomona Police Department's Major Crimes Task Force, in partnership with the California Highway Patrol, pulled over a motorist at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, June 8 in the area of Garey Avenue and Olive Street, the Pomona Police Department reported.
Authorities discovered a gun in the vehicle driven by Daniel Jimenez, 22, who was also a known gang member. A follow-up investigation to Jimenez's Pomona home led to the discovery in his bedroom of an unregistered Glock 9mm handgun loaded with the high-capacity magazine.

He was arrested on suspicion of possession of an unregistered firearm by persons prohibited from possessing a firearm, carrying a loaded firearm by a gang member and possession of a high capacity magazine.
