"You've served students here in this district and you should be proud of the choices you've made in your life," Conklin said.
Board member Larry Redinger said he has known Hogg since she started at the district as principal of , when Redinger's daughter was a student at that school.
"She's always had the kids at heart," Redinger said.
Redinger said that he and Hogg had formed a bond through a strong connection to the late Ron Hockwalt, who was superintendent of the Walnut district for 12 years before his passing in 2002 after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
"You have given back to the district what Ron wanted," Redinger said to Hogg Wednesday, "and from the bottom of my heart, what you've done for the district is profound."
