LA Co. Library App Allows Remote Browsing, Downloads

A new application for Android and Apple's iOS allows library patrons to manage their accounts remotely from mobile devices or computers.

As the book becomes an older technology, accessing books is getting a modern touch.

The Los Angeles County Library system is now offering a free application for Android and Apple's iOS (iPhone and iPad) that allows library patrons to manage and browse library collections remotely.

The application allows users to download digital eBooks and audiobooks directly and also allows users to browse and check out books remotely.

The application, powered by the OverDrive Media Console, is free and is offered in a desktop computer version for Mac and Windows as well.

Diamond Bar Library Manager Jesse Lanz also said at the May 17 meeting of the city council that the L.A. County Library is also publishing events and announcements through its Facebook and Twitter pages.
