LOSMD Assessments Community Meeting And Public Hearing

The Walnut City Council by Resolution No. 20-12, adopted March 10, 2021, initiated proceedings for the levy and collection of assessments within the Lighting and Open Space Maintenance District No. 1 for the Fiscal Year 2021-22 and ordered the Engineer to prepare and file Report in accordance with Article 4, Chapter 1, Landscape and Lighting Act of 1972.

NOTICE IS GIVEN that a virtual Community Meeting will be held for all LOSMD residents via Zoom on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. All those desiring to address this matter may do so at this time. Pursuant to Governor Newsom’s Executive Order N-25-20 and guidance from the California Department of Public Health and Los Angeles Public Health Official regarding public gatherings in response to the COVID-19 outbreak, in person participation will not be allowed. Remote public participation is allowed in the following ways:

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that the proposed assessments for Lighting and Open Space Maintenance District No. 1 will remain unchanged for Zones 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 11 and 12 (no increase) and a 7% assessment increase is proposed for Zone 9. The Engineer’s Report will be available for review ten (10) days prior to the public hearing according to law, in the City Clerk’s office by appointment, 21201 La Puente Road, Walnut, CA 91789 or by calling (909) 348-0710. This department is open Monday through Thursday from
7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. by appointment only.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that the Walnut City Council will hold a Public Hearing on Lighting and Open Space Maintenance District No. 1 on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard. All those desiring to address this matter may do so at this time. It is anticipated that the Public Hearing will be conducted via Zoom. Information regarding the Zoom link and virtual meeting participation will be provided on the May 12, 2021 City Council Meeting Agenda posted to the City’s website by May 6, 2021. In the event in-person meetings are permitted and have resumed, the May 12, 2021 City Council Meeting Agenda shall so state and the Public Hearing will be conducted at the Walnut Council Chambers, 21201 La Puente Road, Walnut, CA 91789.
