Memorial for Alhambra Officer Set for Diamond Bar

Around 3,000 are expected in Diamond Bar Friday, according to the Alhambra Source, for the memorial service of Alhambra Police officer Ryan Stringer, 26, who was killed in collision with another police vehicle during a robbery call July 9.

in Diamond Bar will host a memorial service Friday to remember Alhambra Police Officer Ryan Stringer, 26, who recently died of injuries during an on-duty collision.

The service scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. Friday is expected to draw a crowd of over 3,000 to honor the fallen officer.

The Alhambra Source reported that Stringer and another Alhambra officer collided while reporting to a robbery call. The other officer, Juan Carlos Mejia, was said Tuesday to be in stable condition.

Stringer, of Whittier, attended Whittier Christian School and Rio Hondo Police Academy.

Friday's service at Calvary Springs Chapel will be broadcast live online, starting at 1 p.m.

The funeral procession is expected to arrive at the church between 11:50 a.m. and 12 p.m.
