Panthers Continue To Win

The Diamond Ranch Panthers varsity football team wins its second game in a row with a 35-3 victory over Schurr.

The Diamond Ranch Panthers coming fresh off a 35-10 win over Ayala were looking to do the same and win big, but this time in front of their home crowd. Watch highlight video coverage by Sportscenetv.net

It didn’t take the Panthers very long as the Diamond Ranch defense forced the Spartans to a quick three and out situation on the game’s opening drive.

Punting from inside their own five yard line, Schurr kicker Pedro Moreno’s punt was blocked by the Panthers Deshawn Ellis.

On the very next play from scrimmage, Diamond Ranch quarterback Ethan Cota connected with a four yard pass to wide receiver Ajay Bryant for the touchdown. The Panthers took the lead 7 to 0 with 9:04 remaining in the first quarter.

The Spartans second possession was cut short as the pass from quarterback Aaron Rosales sailed through the hands of the leaping wide receiver Neil Madrid. The ball landed in the hands of the Diamond Ranch defender Carter Henderson.

The junior free safety ran the ball back 48-yards to score the touchdown and put the Panthers in a 14 to 0 lead with 8:19 remaining in the first quarter.

In the second quarter Schurr’s offense ran into trouble again as the Spartans fumbled the ball with Diamond Ranch getting the ball back.

The turnover proved costly for the Spartans as Diamond Ranch head coach Jimmy Walker went into his bag of tricks. On the very next play Diamond Ranch perfectly executed a version of the Flea Flicker with Cota handing the ball off to running back Davion Gaisie who flipped the ball to Joseph Sabastien. Sabastien who alternates at the quarterback spot with Cota, launched a deep 77 yard pass to Kalean Williams for the touchdown.

The Panthers extended their lead 21 to 0 with 8:39 left in the first half.

Diamond Ranch scored yet again. This time is was on a 22-yard run by Cota. Diamond Ranch went into halftime leading 28-0.

In the second half the Panthers would score once more and the Spartans would get on the board with a field goal.

Diamond Ranch went on to win the game 35-3 and will be at home this coming Friday night to host the Whittier Cardinals. Kickoff is at 7pm.
