Police ID Ontario Trash Can Remains as Diamond Bar Man

The San Bernardino County Coroner's Office confirmed late Wednesday that the remains of a man being pushed in a trash can through an Ontario neighborhood Sunday night belong to a 63-year-old Diamond Bar man, Samuel Wiggins, Jr. 

Wiggins was reported missing from his home in the 23700 block of Meadow Fall Drive in Diamond Bar on May 1.

Carmen Montenegro, 51, was found in an Ontario neighborhood Sunday pushing a trash can containing the partial remains of a male adult, which led to her arrest. 

Sheriff's discovered that Wiggins, a past boyfriend of Montenegro's, had been reported missing from his Diamond Bar home on May 1 to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Montenegro was charged Tuesday with murder as the investigation of the crime continues.

Also on Tuesday, detectives identified Wiggins's Diamond Bar home as a crime scene and began to search that residence for further evidence in the case. 

Detectives found additional human remains at a home in Bell Garden inside of flower pots, which police believe Montenegro delivered to that home with her son.

On Wednesday, the woman's son and daughter, Riverside residents Daniel Ortiz, 25, and Chanel Ortiz, 26, were also arrested and investigators believe they were acessories to the crime.

Both were booked at the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga as accessories to murder. 

Investigators said they have recovered the full remains of the body and are continuing an investigation.
