Pomona Unified School District officials postponed a meeting of a citizens group that oversees facilities spending scheduled for today after the meeting was not property noticed to the public.
The group, made up of seven citizen members, oversees the spending for a $235 million facilities bond for projects included in a 10-year capital improvement plan.
The bond money will be used for projects like the reconfiguration of Golden Springs Pre-K – 8 School that will begin this summer and other curb appeal projects as at Lorbeer Middle School.

Committee members received email notice yesterday afternoon about cancellation of the meeting that would have been the first since the school board .
Members of the oversight committee spoke against the layoffs at a January meeting and questioned the appointment of outside contractors to oversee the bond money.

"I would be very careful about having an outside source watch over $235 million of community money," committee member John Murray said at the January meeting before the resolution was passed. "I don't think this would be unreasonable to give this another month and really think about it."
A rescheduled date for the meeting has not yet been announced.
