Residents Evacuate for False Alarm Bomb Squad Call
Residents adjacent to a home in the 600 block of Farben Drive were evacuated late Wednesday night as Sheriff's deputies responded to a report of a grenade-like item in a front yard in the area.

A grenade-like item turned out not to be a grenade in a Diamond Bar front yard after residents were evacuated around the suspected explosive.
Sgt. Ernie Vanderport of the L.A. County Sheriff's Walnut/Diamond Bar station said a sheriff's bomb squad reported to the call around 11 p.m. Wednesday.
Vanderport did not have details on how many residents were evacuated, but said that standard procedure is to evacuate homes immediately adjacent.
