The two men involved in the shooting were coworkers, Wilson said.

The suspect, age 50, reportedly fired several shots that wounded another 40-year-old man in the hand, head, and "mid-face" before driving away and heading east on the 60 freeway.

The suspect was injured in the fight but was not shot in the altercation.

Investigators believe the suspect passed out just after Diamond Bar Boulevard on the freeway before crashing into the center divider.

Sgt. Wilson said an off-duty Huntington Park police officer stopped to help the man and both were tansported to separate hospitals for treatment.
