Signups Open for Cowboys Youth Football and Cheer

The Walnut-Diamond Bar Cowboys youth football and cheerleading league is hosting signups Wednesday at Snowcreek Park in Walnut.

The Walnut-Diamond Bar Cowboys football and cheerleading league is preparing for its 41st season with signups Wednesday at Snowcreek Park in Walnut. 

Registration for the non-profit All-American Football Conference team will be open for two leagues with flag football for ages 6-8 and tackle football for ages 8-14. 

Golden Springs PreK-8 PTO President and former Walnut-Diamond Bar Cowboys volunteer Scott Willingham said in release to Golden Springs parents that he saw the benefits of the league for his three children.

"Working together under the supervision of (the league's) dedicated, volunteer coaches, children learn first hand the joy and value of hard work, competition, sportsmanship, (and) teamwork," Willingham said.

Willingham said the league also rewards children who carry a 3.33 or higher GPA average with a scholarship prize.
