Therapy Dog Puts New Spin on Take Your Dog to Work Day

Every year on Take Your Dog to Work Day, dog owners are encouraged to tote their pet to work.

For Diamond Bar resident Prakash Vora, it usually works the other way around.

Vora's golden retriever Sonya is a certified therapy dog who makes monthly visits to nearby assisted living facilities to work with Alzheimer's and dementia patients.

Vora said he spends time training Sonya every day.

"I spend half an hour (training Sonya) before I go to work," Vora said. "I come in the evening, before I go to yoga, and I spend half an hour with her.”
