The is adding a "new" twist to an old idea with the debut of its daily Christmas tree lot.
Church member and volunteer Bill Flourney said the lot takes after the church's successful October pumpkin patch.
"We just changed pumpkins into trees," Flourney said. "It's the first year, so we'll see how it goes."

Around 30-40 volunteers will staff the tree lot, which is open weekdays from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. and until 11 p.m. Friday to Sunday. The lot stocks Douglas and Noble firs ranging from 5 to 9 feet in height and priced from $30 to $100.
Flourney says any proceeds will go toward the church's general operating budget, but that fundraising is only one objective of the sale.

"It's partly a community event," Flourney said, "for visibility in the community and it brings the staff together."
The tree lot is located in the parking lot of the DBUCC at 2335 S. Diamond Bar Blvd.
