Woman ID'd After Fatal Pomona Crash

Authorities released the identity of a woman killed this week during rainy weather on a southland freeway.

POMONA, CA —The identity of a 75-year-old woman killed in a crash during rainy conditions on a Pomona freeway was released Monday.

Ellen Cavalli, city of residence not released, was a passenger in a Hyundai Sonata sedan that rear-ended a big rig about 4:20 a.m. Monday on the eastbound San Bernardino (10) Freeway near Dudley Street in Pomona, according to the coroner's office and the California Highway Patrol.

According to the CHP, the big rig had stopped in the No. 2 lane because crews were working to clear the scene of a non-injury accident that had occurred about a half-hour earlier near Garey Avenue.
