Accident Snarls Traffic Along Highway 80 at Midway Road

Update 4:47 p.m.: the California Highway Patrol has opened one lane at the scene of the accident.

Anyone traveling east on Highway 80 through Dixon might want to take an alternate route. Traffic is snarled due to an accident at Highway 80 at Midway Road. 

The highway is shut down about have a mile before the eastbound Midway Road exit. Initial reports indicate that subjects are trapped inside one of the vehicles involved and that the accident is a possible result of a pursuit. 

The accident was reported at 3:47 p.m. We will continue to update the story once we know more. 

In related news, Highway 113 is shut down at Hawkins road due to a traffic accident.
