Boy, 7, Says Man Tried To Kidnap Him At Knifepoint: Vacaville PD

The attempted kidnapping was reported at a local park near a school, Vacaville police said.

VACAVILLE, CA — Vacaville police are investigating an attempted kidnapping reported Monday at a local park. It was around 3 p.m. when dispatchers received a call from the guardian of a 7-year-old boy who said he was walking along the parking lot path to Meadowlands Park after finishing his school day when a stranger tried to kidnap him at knifepoint, police said.

The stranger reportedly approached the boy, held a folding knife toward his face and demanded he go to a nearby landmark, police said.

The boy quickly ran to his guardian who was waiting in a car at the park, which is on Vanden Road near Callison Elementary School. The boy described the person with a knife as a white man in his 30s with a goatee who was wearing an orange T-shirt and blue jeans, according to police.
