Coroner Identifies Woman Killed In Highway 113 Head-On Collision
The fatal crash happened Thursday evening on state Highway 113 south of Dixon.
SOLANO COUNTY, CA — The Solano County coroner's office has identified a woman who died in a collision on state Highway 113 Thursday evening as Linda Shier, 63, of Vacaville. Shier was a passenger in a Dodge Caravan that was traveling south on Highway 113 in Solano County around 6 p.m.
A 24-year-old Fairfield man was driving a Hyundai Sonata north on the highway just south of Casey Road when he turned into the southbound lane and struck the Dodge, according to the California Highway Patrol.
He and a woman driving the Dodge suffered major injuries and were taken to a hospital. CHP officials said alcohol is not suspected as a factor in the collision.
