Dixon Boy Collapses on C Street, Dies at Sutter Davis (Police Log)

A memorial was held in the boy's memory Saturday night.

A young Dixon boy died suddenly while walking with his friends on the 300 block of C Street Friday night, according to the Dixon Police Department. 

That boy was 13-years-old Stevey Mendoza. 

We are currently gathering some more information, but want to be sensitive to the boy's family during these hard times. We'll have an updated story tomorrow. Here's what was provided in the Dixon Police Log:

  • 9:30 p.m. -  Possible large group of Juveniles was heading to the 400 block of E. Mayes (Hall Park) 
  • 9:33 p.m. - Man down call possibly related to above detail. Dixon Officers arrived to the 300 block of East C Street and found juvenile on the ground. Code three Fire and Ambulance was requested and the juvenile was transported to Sutter Davis Hospital and was pronounced deceased at approximately 2246 hrs. At this time there are no signs of foul play; preliminary investigation indicates possible natural causes and the investigation on-going. 

A memorial was held in the boy's memory Saturday night, in which many balloons were released into the sky.
