Dixon Man, 20, Crashes Into Canal, Dies: CHP

The California Highway Patrol is investigating impaired driving as the cause in the fatal Solano County incident.

SOLANO COUNTY, CA — A 20-year-old Dixon man died Sunday when his blue Honda Accord went off a roadway and into a canal southeast of Dixon, the California Highway Patrol said.

The fatal incident that investigators believe may have involved alcohol and/or drug impairment happened as the man was driving southbound on Pedrick and did not stop at the stop sign at Main Prairie Road, CHP Officer David Harvey said.

The Honda went through the intersection, over the dirt shoulder, and into a canal, where the front of the car hit the south embankment of the canal, Harvey said.
