July 23, 2016/Saturday
0020 Suspicious Persons inside WalMart, 235 E. Dorset Dr, possibly preparing to flee with merchandise.
0210 Attempted Homicide and Assault With A Deadly Weapon during an altercation that began in the 1000 blk of N. First St and continued to the 300 blk of McKenzie Dr. One victim was intentionally struck and run over by a vehicle and a second subject was stabbed several times by one of the vehicle’s occupants. Both victims were treated at an area hospital for serious injuries incurred during the incident.
0300 Disturbance reported in the 100 blk of S. First St. Responding officers found no evidence of a disturbance.
0445 Follow-up investigation conducted in the 200 blk of N. Washington St. Vehicle involved in the above attempted homicide and ADW was located parked in the alley behind a residence. The vehicle was seized as evidence stored at the Dixon Police Dept.

2130 Fireworks reported in the 1300 blk of West H St.
2210 Welfare Check on a patron requested at Safeway, 1235 Stratford Ave.
Citizen given a ride.
2235 Verbal Dispute in the 700 blk of Wiegand Way.
2305 Suspicious Vehicle reported in the Birchwood Apt parking lot, 200 blk of West H St.
2305 Traffic Enforcement stop in the area of Afton Way / Stratford Ave resulted in the arrest of Matthew Eric Shaw, 24, of Dixon, for 23152(a) CVC – driving while impaired by alcohol, and 23152(b) CVC – drive with a blood alcohol content of at least .08%.
2310 Disturbance reported in the 1400 blk of Ary Ln. Male in a pickup observed following a female and kids on bikes. Responding officer contacted all subjects and all were uncooperative. Female refused to identify herself and left with her kids. Male was contacted outside of his vehicle and not observed driving and then attempted to walk away from the contacting officer. He was detained and eventually turned over to a sober adult family member who responded to the scene.
