Please look for another update next Friday and consider joining in our Board Meeting next Thursday, June 18th at 6:00 PM via Zoom.
June 12, 2020
In order to keep you informed regarding the planning for the 2020-21 school year and the details on how we will reopen, we will publish an update every Friday throughout the summer. Additional updates will be provided as developments occur and decisions are made.
The last week featured the release of a number of documents prepared by various agencies across the region and State providing guidance for the reopening schools beginning in the Fall. We are providing links to a number of these documents so that you can see the full range of recommendations that are being made by these various entities. For the most part, there is consistency among the documents with some variations on a few issues, perhaps most significantly the wearing of facial coverings.

We will not overload you by attaching more links to guidelines as there is a great deal of content included in the links above. These are generally regarded as the most relevant and thorough sets of guidelines that have been developed and distributed at this time. We will continue to post additional links as valuable ones become available.
We are maintaining our planning on having a physical reopening of schools in August when the new school year begins. Critical issues to address - all of which are referenced in the documents above - are social distancing, sanitizing areas where people will be, face coverings, and health screenings. We must have concrete plans and preparation in place with regard to these key areas most of all to be able to have a physical reopening.
