Dixon Woman Hopes For Missing Pet Tortoise's Safe Return
Have you seen this little guy? He's about the size of a softball and has been missing for over two weeks, his owner says.
DIXON, CA — A Dixon woman's 1-year-old sulcata tortoise has been missing for about two and a half weeks, but she has not given up hope that he will be found. The tortoise escaped from his enclosure in her backyard on S. Almond Street.
The little guy was still missing as of Wednesday, its owner told Patch.
"I have searched everywhere in the yard/garage," said its owner, Jenna. "So my hope is that he got out through the fence somewhere (they are notorious escape artists...) and one of the neighbors has stumbled upon him."

The tortoise is about the size of a softball, she said, noting that she's been trying to stay calm because she knows survival is within the little guy's instincts.
"If you have seen a tortoise roaming around anywhere, or if you have him in a shoebox somewhere, please contact me and I will pay for his return," Jenna said.
