Flu Linked To More Solano County Deaths

The number of people who've died influenza-related deaths in the county rose last week.

SOLANO COUNTY, CA — The number of flu-related deaths this season in Solano County rose to seven adults (ages 19-64) last week. The County Office of Public Health reported the latest figure Friday, Feb. 23, noting that thus far this season in the county, no children have died influenza-related deaths.

Also Monday, another 17 deaths were attributed to the flu in California during the week ending Feb. 17, according to a weekly report from the California Department of Public Health. To date, the severe flu season of 2017-2018 has killed 202 people across the state, with 64 of those deaths in the San Francisco Bay Area (40) and Northern California (24).

Solano County reported its first flu death of the season in early January.
