K-9 Kepi Helped Students Celebrate National Bike to School Day

Dixon's mayor, councilmember and police officers hung out at Gretchen Higgins for some fun Wednesday.

DIXON, CA- Wednesday was national Bike To School Day across the nation, and Dixon officials were excited to participate.

Dixon Mayor Jack Batchelor and Dixon Councilmember Steve Bird were at Gretchen Higgins Elementary School passing out backpacks and bike lights for selected students who participated, Dixon Police Department shared on Facebook.

Later they say Police Chaplain K-9 Kepi helped the officers pass out bicycle safety educational coloring books to students.

"The books were so popular that two students and Kepi all played tug-of-war over who got to keep the coloring book in front of Gretchen Higgins Principal Shawntel McCammon," said the post.
