Man Shot By Stray Bullet in Rural Vacaville Area
Officials say the bullet was meant for a target.

VACAVILLE, CA - A man was shot Saturday morning, stuck by a stray bullet meant for a target in the rural area of Vacaville.Solano Sheriff’s Department officials reported that an 18-year-old male was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries from the area of Fry and Lewis Roads around 11:15 a.m. after being shot.
Officials stated, as of now their investigation has lead them to believe the victim was unintentionally struck with a stray bullet from someone target shooting in the area, and report that the person who was target shooting is cooperating with officers.
“It appears this incident was a terrible accident and our thoughts remain with the victim during his recovery,” the department stated in a social media post.
