New Solano County WAA Location!!
The Benicia Arsenal Post Cemetery is a new Wreaths Across America (WAA) Location in 2020
Look out Solano County! You have a new Wreaths Across America (WAA) location in the form of the oldest military cemetery in the Pacific States! YES…let that sink in! This new location is the Benicia Arsenal Post Cemetery off of Birch Road. Of course those of you who live or who have lived in Benicia may already be aware of this beautiful historic cemetery. This new location is in addition to the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery location in Dixon and the Mare Island Naval Cemetery location in Vallejo. YES we know that 2020 has been a unique year…to say the least. And yes it will be affecting how Wreaths Across America ceremonies are going to take place across the country and cemeteries everywhere. Some locations will be pre-recording and blasting out the link on December
19th others will have small ceremonies that will be live via online platforms. That does not mean that wreaths will not be placed in front of the headstones…just in a bit more creative ways. .
What a way to have our inaugural year with WAA!!! We are embracing it and will make the best of it! Our Chapter Regent, Angie Goodson, is the location coordinator and her chapter members and prospective members have enthusiastically stepped up to volunteer and to help and get the
word out to the community about this new WAA location.

We will follow all of Solano County’s Health Department as well as directions given to us by the wonderful folks over at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery (SVNC) in Dixon and the local Benicia community guidelines.
