Northern California Storm Drops Several Feet of Snow in Truckee and Tahoe

Several feet of fresh snow in the Sierra's following the storm this weekend, more to come.


The storm system that pounded Northern California with several inches of rain this past weekend, brought a load of fresh powder to the Sierra Nevadas.

Lake Tahoe reportedly received a total of seven and a half feet over the weekend, recieving 34-inches on Friday, 32 inches on Saturday, and 24 more inches on Sunday at Tahoe Donner.

Truckee received two inches of snow on Saturday, followed by eight inches Sunday according to snow reports, with forecasters predicting an additional 24 inches to drop today.

The National Weather Service is suggesting residents stay indoors due to extreme weather until 4 p.m. today, expecting a high of only 29-31 degrees in the mountain region.
