Dixon High School varsity football team beat the Natomas High NIghthawks Friday in 55-7 victory

Dixon Rams trounced the Natomas Nighthawks, 55-7, continuing its strong 2012 season with a 2-0 record after Friday night’s game in Sacramento.
The Dixon High School varsity football team’s high-powered offense ran the ball up and down the field and were leading in the first quarter 23-6. Once again, the Rams defense held its opponent to a single touchdown.
Last week the team won a victory over Sacramento’s McClatchy High School.

So far this season, the Rams are proving they’re the little team that could.
“This team is little in numbers, but big in heart,” Dixon Coach Wes Besseghini said. “I will take that any day.”

Dixon High heads across town to face rivals Winters Warriors next week. The Rams lost a close game to Winters last year, and the hometown team is looking to even the score.
The junior varsity game ended in a 6-6 tie.
