The Solano County sheriff's SWAT unit helped Vacaville police arrest two people on a narcotics warrant this morning, a sheriff's lieutenant said.
The warrant was considered high-risk because of the criminal history of at least one of the residents and the possibility of weapons in the residence at 412 Benicia Road in unincorporated Solano County north of Vallejo.
The SWAT team detonated a flash grenade in the back of the residence around 9:15 a.m. and four people left the residence, DeWall said.
A male resident who was unresponsive, asleep or passed out remained inside, however, and the SWAT unit sent a robot equipped with a radio and video screen into the home, DeWall said.
The SWAT unit then was able to communicate with the remaining resident who then left the residence and secured a pit bull on the property, DeWall said.
Vacaville police have not released the names of the people who were arrested or their alleged offenses.
City of Vacaville spokesman Mark Mazzaferro said two people were arrested and handguns and semi-automatic weapons were found in the home.
