Vacaville Uber Driver Arrested for Evading Police in Bay Area

Cherelle Maria Knight, 27, was arrested following a short pursuit through Hercules.

HERCULES, CA- A Vacaville woman claiming to be an Uber driver was arrested for evading and resisting or interfering with police on Easter Sunday.

According to the Hercules police call log, at 2:10 a.m., Hercules officers reportedly attempted to stop a Jeep Cherokee driving with no lights on and speeding through intersections.

The Jeep allegedly drove through a stop sign at 4th and Vaqueros, and finally yielded about a mile and a half later.

The report say that the driver, Cherelle Maria Knight, 27 of Vacaville, had to be told ten times before exiting the vehicle.

Knight reportedly told police that she was an Uber driver headed to pick up an intoxicated person, however, she was arrested for evading police.
