D'oh! Ned Flanders and Mr. Burns (Harry Shearer) Leaving "The Simpsons"

“Maggie took it hard.”

With that, The Simpsons executives Matt Groening, Al Jean and James L. Brooks confirmed that Harry Shearer, the voice of Mr. Burns, Ned Flanders and Principal Skinner is leaving the show, Variety reports.

Shearer was with the show all 26 seasons that it’s been on TV. He tweeted Wednesday night, “This because I wanted what we’ve always had: the freedom to do other work.”

Springfield will never be the same!
